Biodiesel is recognized and prioritized worldwide as a renewable energy source, leading to a rapid increase in the production capacity of biodiesel or green diesel. Pongamia pinnata (Indian beech) is another oilseed plant with high potential, free from land-use limitations and locally available. It can be used as an energy source without competing with food security, making it a highly attractive option.
